David earned his bachelor’s degree in political and social thought from the University of Virginia and obtained a master’s degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard. He spent many years working at an economics consulting firm and then a public finance firm, making significant contributions to our society. He wrote the war risk insurance policy used by the federal government during the Gulf War and created economic models to measure the impact of infrastructure projects, most notably the project that led to the building of the airport in Hong Kong.
He earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), and Behavioral Finance Advisor (BFA®) designations from The American College and loves doing his part to make our world a better place. Helping others is in my blood. I grew up watching my parents sacrifice their time, money, and energy to give back to others as scout masters, PTA presidents, community leaders, and caring for local parks. They worked tirelessly to give back to our community and city, making it a better place to live. It’s no surprise that when it came time to choose a career, I wanted one where I could impact the lives of others.
I was working as an economic consultant when I decided to run for public office. Out of the 32,000+ votes cast, I lost by 277. Afterwards, one of my mentors said, “I know a way for you to have an even bigger impact on people than even if you had won.” He meant as a financial advisor.
Although I don’t work with 32,000 people today, I get involved with my clients hopes, fears, dreams and beliefs. I want to help you reach your goals and live confidently in retirement!
The right asset allocation could reduce your exposure to market volatility. However, you also may want to incorporate other vehicles that can minimize risk and protect your retirement income.
